Why buy the Barcelona City Pass?

  • The concept is very innovative. It is the first time that a city offers a formula that combines preferential skip-the-line tickets and accessible transportation, all online and by e-mail. We like the quick and practical aspects of the concept.
  • The choice of the two main must visit tourist attractions is a good idea: the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are the two most popular monuments for visitors.
  • Discounts of 10% in other monuments, museums and places of interest are appreciable. The offer encompasses the important places that everyone should see.
  • However, you must visit these two places at least to be able to monetize the City Pass. If you also use to visit some other place with the offered discount, then it is really a must. Prepare your trip to Barcelona well to enjoy it
  • We recommend to buy it online as soon as possible. After your payment you will get an email where you can fill in the availability for the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Because these attractions have a lot of visitors they work with time slots to spread the amount of people (after your entrance you can stay as long as you want). When you buy it in advance we can guarantee more options in the availability.

Not a problem, it is the barcode which is important.

We recomend to make the reservation all together. The timeslots for Sagrada Familia and Park Güell run out quickly so it is important to make the reservations together or close to each other.

This means that it's an open ticket, no need to visit it on a specific date

Unfortunately Sagrada Familia or Park Guell doesn't allow any change after issuing the tickets.

What if I can not see one of the options available for the Sagrada Familia in the reservation process?

It means these tickets are sold out and not bookable at all. We recommend to choose one of the available options.

Tickets FAQ - All about your tickets to visit Barcelona

We are totally at your service to help you with any questions you may have before or after purchasing your ticket. Problems receiving your ticket? A question before you buy? We answer you within the day, all year round!

Contact us: ticketing@barcelona.com and specify your name, first name, order number if you have it and remind us your email - the same email as your order - to facilitate the processing of your file.

  • What does a 100% mobile ticket mean?

A 100% mobile ticket simply means that your ticket - which you will receive by email just after your purchase - will be - in its electronic form (PDF) - sufficient to enable you to make your visit with your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is present it at the checkpoint. A simple scan will allow you to make your visit.

  • Can I print my ticket?

You can of course print your ticket if you don't have a smartphone, a tablet or if you simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then just present your printed ticket at the checkpoint.

  • What does a 100% skip the line ticket mean?

A 100% skip the line ticket means that the ticket in question allows you to enter the place you want to visit in Barcelona without queuing, for example at the ticket office. All you have to do is present your ticket directly at the entrance. This way, you won't lose any time on your day of discovery.

  • What's included with this ticket?

On this same page or on the ticket reservation page - the services included with the purchase of your ticket are systematically indicated. See the "Included" or “Inclusions” section for details.

  • Why do I have to specify a date when buying a ticket?

When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because the monument or service you have chosen to visit also requests it. Most of the time, this date allows tourist sites to limit the number of visitors and therefore to make the visits more fluid. Please note that if you are not asked to specify the time of your visit, this means that you can arrive at any time to visit the site - while respecting the visiting hours of the site in question.

  • Why do I have to specify a date and time when purchasing a ticket?

Same as before, but here in addition to the date - the monument or service you have chosen to visit - also asks you to specify the time you wish to visit. Once again it is a matter of limiting the number of visitors so that your visit is as pleasant as possible.

  • With a ticket - date and time requested - do I have to arrive at the exact time or can I be a little late for my visit?

On the ticket that you will receive by email after your purchase, it is normally specified how much time - in addition to the scheduled time - you are granted in order not to lose your visit. Please note, for example, that a visit to Parc Güell entitles you to entry 30 minutes after the stated time. The Sagrada Familia ticket indicates a time slot of 15 minutes. It is therefore important to respect this time slot. If the ticket does not specify a time slot, then the timetable must be respected.

  • Why are we talking about combined tickets?

We talk about combined tickets in some of our offers when they offer, for example, two places to visit in Barcelona. The ticket itself is not combined. It is two separate tickets that we combine to make a more economical and attractive offer. You will receive these two tickets by email. As they are separate you can use them according to your preference when the tickets are open or according to the dates and times you choose.

  • How to benefit from a discount for example according to age or for students?

When purchasing your ticket, discounts are always indicated when available. For example, there are regular discounts for children in different age groups, ranging from free for very young children to discounts for seniors over 65 years of age. Discounted tickets for students are indicated in the same way.

Don't forget your proof of discounts - identity card, student card... - to be shown during your visit to Barcelona.

  • What are the means of payment for the tickets?

To pay online your tickets to visit Barcelona, are accepted the classic means of payment used worldwide such as:  Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, iDeal, GiroPay or Paypal.

  8. Aerobus - Bruno (21 Feb 2020 - 09:26)

I will only require Aerobus from Barcelona International (BCN) to he city - No return

Will I also be able to use Teleferic Montjuic Cable Car

  11. @ST - Barcelona.com (7 Feb 2020 - 08:54)

    Hello ST,
The hop on hop off bus runs in only one direction - counterclockwise -. So effectively to go from Sagrada Familia to Diagonal or let's say to Casa Milà- La Pedrera you'll have to go the way to FC Barcelona Stadium and back to Diagonal. However, there are 5 crossroads that allow you to change lines and make it easier for you to discover the city.
    Best,

  12. Bus Route - ST (6 Feb 2020 - 09:38)

    Hello,

Does the bus run in a single direction, for instance on the blue route if I wanted to go from Sagrada Familia to Diagonal, would I have to ride the bus all the way around the route (going past Park Guell and Camp Nou) or does the bus go in both directions (passing Eixample) ?

    Thank you,
    ST

  13. @Rhian - Barcelona.com (5 Feb 2020 - 10:58)

    Hello Rhian,
Skip the line tickets included in the city pass are for both Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. For Park Guell of course this ticket opens the entrance of the monumental aera where you can stay as long as you want.
    Have a good visit,

  14. Skip the line - Rhian (5 Feb 2020 - 08:06)

    Hello,
It only states that skip the line is for sagrada familia ... is it not for both park guell and sagrada familia ?

And if it's for both is it for the middle section in park guell or just the free part?

    Thank you x

  15. @Irene - Barcelona.com (4 Feb 2020 - 09:56)

    Hello Irene,
There is no physical distribution of city pass. When you buy the city pass - which is not a card but a selection of entrance tickets - you receive them by email. You can then simply print it out or keep it in your smartphone to use it - without the need for the internet.
    Have a great journey.

  16. Can people purchase a physical city pass card? - Irene (4 Feb 2020 - 09:10)

How would someone from the United States be able to access the Barcelona City Pass if phones are on airplane mode? Can someone actually purchase a physical card to present at the ticket windows?

I will be in Barcelona on a cruise ship. Is there an option to get the Barcelona City Pass for 1 day only? I would like to have the fast track entrance included to the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Excursions from the ship do not offer all that and other daytrips do not work with our time in Barcelona.

    Hello Kit,
Upon reservation, you'll need to select the date of your arrival. Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive an email in which you will choose the dates to visit Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Along with those, you'll have the option to select Airport Transfer or No Airport Transfer - the last one stands for the Cable Car tickets instead. When the visits have been reserved, you will receive all the tickets in your email.

Let us know if you need anything else!

    Kind Regards,

    Hello Helen,
Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are skip the line tickets you are right, Aerobus and Hop on Hop off bus are normal tickets -everyone as the same ticket, so it's depending of the number of people at a given time. However, you should be aware that bus passages are very frequent and adapted, expectations are quite rare even in high season.
Concerning the tickets that you will buy with a 20% discount it is always indicated whether they fast track or not - most of them are indeed fast entry.
