Why buy the Barcelona City Pass?

  • The concept is very innovative. It is the first time that a city offers a formula that combines preferential skip-the-line tickets and accessible transportation, all online and by e-mail. We like the quick and practical aspects of the concept.
  • The choice of the two main must visit tourist attractions is a good idea: the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are the two most popular monuments for visitors.
  • Discounts of 10% in other monuments, museums, and places of interest are appreciable. The offer encompasses the important places that everyone should see.
  • However, you must visit these two places at least to be able to monetize the City Pass. If you also use to visit some other place with the offered discount, then it is really a must. Prepare your trip to Barcelona well to enjoy it
  • The Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell are the most popular attractions in the city. Time slots are required to distribute the number of visitors as well as for the tourist bus. Please note that after entering the Sagrada Familia or Parc Guell, you can stay as long as you like.

Tickets FAQ - All about your tickets to visit Barcelona

We are totally at your service to help you with any questions you may have before or after purchasing your ticket. Problems receiving your ticket? A question before you buy? We answer you within the day, all year round!

Contact us: ticketing@barcelona.com and specify your name, first name, order number if you have it and remind us your email - the same email as your order - to facilitate the processing of your file.

  • What does a 100% mobile ticket mean?

A 100% mobile ticket simply means that your ticket - which you will receive by email just after your purchase - will be - in its electronic form (PDF) - sufficient to enable you to make your visit with your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is present it at the checkpoint. A simple scan will allow you to make your visit.

  • Can I print my ticket?

You can of course print your ticket if you don't have a smartphone, a tablet or if you simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then just present your printed ticket at the checkpoint.

  • What does a 100% skip the line ticket mean?

A 100% skip the line ticket means that the ticket in question allows you to enter the place you want to visit in Barcelona without queuing, for example at the ticket office. All you have to do is present your ticket directly at the entrance. This way, you won't lose any time on your day of discovery.

  • What's included with this ticket?

On this same page or on the ticket reservation page - the services included with the purchase of your ticket are systematically indicated. See the "Included" or “Inclusions” section for details.

  • Why do I have to specify a date when buying a ticket?

When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because the monument or service you have chosen to visit also requests it. Most of the time, this date allows tourist sites to limit the number of visitors and therefore to make the visits more fluid. Please note that if you are not asked to specify the time of your visit, this means that you can arrive at any time to visit the site - while respecting the visiting hours of the site in question.

  • Why do I have to specify a date and time when purchasing a ticket?

Same as before, but here in addition to the date - the monument or service you have chosen to visit - also asks you to specify the time you wish to visit. Once again it is a matter of limiting the number of visitors so that your visit is as pleasant as possible.

  • With a ticket - date and time requested - do I have to arrive at the exact time or can I be a little late for my visit?

On the ticket that you will receive by email after your purchase, it is normally specified how much time - in addition to the scheduled time - you are granted in order not to lose your visit. Please note, for example, that a visit to Park Güell entitles you to entry 30 minutes after the stated time. The Sagrada Familia ticket indicates a time slot of 15 minutes. It is therefore important to respect this time slot. If the ticket does not specify a time slot, then the timetable must be respected.

  • Why are we talking about combined tickets?

We talk about combined tickets in some of our offers when they offer, for example, two places to visit in Barcelona. The ticket itself is not combined. It is two separate tickets that we combine to make a more economical and attractive offer. You will receive these two tickets by email. As they are separate you can use them according to your preference when the tickets are open or according to the dates and times you choose.

  • How to benefit from a discount for example according to age or for students?

When purchasing your ticket, discounts are always indicated when available. For example, there are regular discounts for children in different age groups, ranging from free for very young children to discounts for seniors over 65 years of age. Discounted tickets for students are indicated in the same way.

Don't forget your proof of discounts - identity card, student card... - to be shown during your visit to Barcelona.

  • What are the means of payment for the tickets?

To pay online your tickets to visit Barcelona, are accepted the classic means of payment used worldwide such as:  Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, iDeal, GiroPay or Paypal.

  • What is the difference between tours and tickets?

The difference between tours and tickets is that both types of tickets allow you to visit the main monuments of the city with a guide who speaks your language for the tours (or guided tours) or by yourself with the tickets. You can find the guided tours and tickets in our section: Barcelona Tours

  3. @Ron C - Barcelona.com (15 Aug 2023 - 10:56)

    Hello Ron C
In response to your questions about the Barcelona City Pass:
    >> 1. In all the pass formulas offered on this page, you can - at the time of purchase of your pass - choose one or two days of Hop on-Hop off ticket.
    >> 2 The difference between Aerobus and the Towers is that, in addition to the basic visits (Sagrada, Park Guell and city bus), you can also visit the tower or take the transfer bus from the airport. Another way to save money.

  4. City Pass - Aerobus vs Towers - Ron C (15 Aug 2023 - 10:20)

We are considering the Barcelona City Pass, but not sure whether to purchase the Aerobus or the Towers options. Two questions:

    1. We'd prefer to spread this over a two day period if possible and noticed both the Aerobus and the Towers options offer a 1-2 day Hop on-Hop off ticket. Does this mean by purchasing either of these, we'll have two days for the Hop on-Hop off?
    2. What's the main difference between Aerobus and the Towers? They each look identical as to what's included. Thanks.

Hello. We have bought a Barcelona pass that includes the Hop on hop bus and have chosen a concrete date to use the Hop on hop bus, but we are not sure if we can use it on that day. Can we use the ticket on another day, for example later by 2-3 days, or is the ticket fixed to the date written on it?

  15. @Monica - Barcelona.com (11 Apr 2023 - 10:32)

    Hellon Monica,
The Barcelona city pass does not offer guided tours of the Sagrada Familia or Park Guell.

    Enjoy your city tour!

  17. @Lynne - Barcelona.com (31 Mar 2023 - 09:40)

    Hello Lynne,
The nearest hop-on hop-off bus stop - red line - from the cruise port, is at the World Trade Center or at the bottom of the Christopher Columbus column in Port Vell.
To join the blue line the nearest stop will be Placa de Catalunya.
    More info on this page:

Have a great journey in Barcelona,

  18. Question about bus route and pick up point - Lynne (31 Mar 2023 - 09:26)

We are arriving by cruise ship and I purchased the Barcelona City Pass for one day. We have our timed tickets as well for skip the line. How close are the buses to the port? Is Port Vell the stop we get on and then transfer to the blue line at Casa Batilo for Sagrada Familia?
The hop on hop off bus line we want is the Hop on Hop off Turista line bus, correct? Not the Barcelona Hop on Hop Off. Confusing when both use Hop on Hop Off.

    Thank you

  19. Barcelona Opentop bus - Ian (3 Mar 2023 - 11:50)

The commentary is reasonable. We visited Park Guell and the bus stop was a good 20 minute walk up hill to the park whereas tour buses were parked at the Park. Further there were no directions given by the bus crew. The Park has enough hills to climb without adding to the problems. Regarding the Park itself there were unnecessary path closures which entailed having to go down the hill before climbing back up. We also got off the bus at the Convent; we were given directions, but were not told that the Convent shut at 14.00 and this was 15.45!!!

  20. @Anthony - Barcelona.com (2 Mar 2023 - 10:56)

    Hello Anthony
The hop-on and hop-off bus that is included in the city pass, runs every day between 9 am and 8 pm (7 pm in Winter) and runs every 5 to 25 minutes.
    Have a good journey!

  21. Hop on hop off bus schedules? - Anthony (2 Mar 2023 - 10:16)

Where can we find the hop on and hop off bus schedules that included in the ticket.

  22. @Rob - Barcelona.com (16 Feb 2023 - 10:06)

    Hello Rob,
Indeed, we do not offer a city pass with Sagrada Família towers and Aerobus ticket.
We advise you to buy the city pass with towers and to buy your Aerobus ticket for the transfer "Barcelona airport / city centre" on this page:
    https://www.barcelona.com/barcelona_tickets/aerobus_barcelona

Have a nice stay in Barcelona!

  23. Aerobus and Towers - Rob (16 Feb 2023 - 09:50)

We would like to see the towers at Sagrada Familia but also need an Aerobus ticket. Do we need to purchase one of those separately? And if so, which one do you advise?

  24. @Rabdrana - Barcelona.com (15 Feb 2023 - 13:48)

    Hello Rabdrana,
Yes, you can get on the bus on any day you like after buying your Barcelona City Pass.
The hop-on hop-off ticket is open, meaning that the date of purchase is "disconnected" from the date of use.
However, once it is scanned on the bus, you must use it within the day for one-day tickets, the same day, and the next day for two-day tickets.

    Enjoy exploring the city!

  25. city pass with hop on hop off - Rabdrana (15 Feb 2023 - 13:20)

    Hello,
If I bought a Barcelona city pass with Sagrada tower.
Can I get on the bus tour two days later the sagrada visit?
    Thank you in advance

  26. @jackvanhorn@att.net - Barcelona.com (24 Jan 2023 - 13:46)

    Hello Jack,
You are perfectly right, in fact, it's only a one-way Aerobus ticket included in this Barcelona pass.
We will make it more clear.
You'll be able to find more Aerobus tickets on this page
    https://www.barcelona.com/barcelona_tickets/aerobus_barcelona

Hope it helps you, thank you for your post!

  27. Aerobus - 1-way vs. 2-way Tickets - jackvanhorn@att.net (24 Jan 2023 - 13:40)

Hello, Thanks for your response. However, I do NOT see a 1-way or 2-way Aerobus tickets option. When we select the Aerobus Option, it only gives us the 1-day or 2-day option for the Hop on/Hop off Bus.

Where do we select the 2-way option for the Aerobus tickets? (We want the 2-day Hop on/Hop off Bus).

    Thank you.

    Regards,

  28. @Jay - Barcelona.com (23 Jan 2023 - 09:32)

    Hello Jay,
1-You can use your Aerobus ticket whenever you like - it is not linked to visits to the Sagrada Família or Park Güell.
Once activated, your Aerobus ticket is valid for 90 consecutive calendar days.

2- You can use your Aerobus ticket only once if you have purchased a one-way ticket and twice if you choose a two-way ticket.

Have a nice journey in Barcelona!

  29. Can Aerobus pass be used the day before the Hop on/Hop Off Days? - Jay (23 Jan 2023 - 09:18)

    1) We will be flying into Barcelona on a Friday and want to use the Aerobus pass to get to our hotel. However, we do not plan to use the Hop on/Hop off Bus passes until Saturday & Sunday. Is this an issue with using Aerobus pass a day before the Hop on/Hop Off Bus?

    2) How many times can we use the Aerobus pass? We want to use it from the Barcelona Airport to our Hotel and then back to the airport from our hotel.

    Thank you.

  30. @Jan - Barcelona.com (9 Dec 2022 - 14:26)

  32. @tang - Barcelona.com (8 Dec 2022 - 11:52)

    Hello tang,
Barcelona is a vibrant city with a rich history and culture. There are many things to see and do in the city, so it can be difficult to decide what to visit. Some popular tourist attractions in Barcelona include the Sagrada Familia, the Park Güell, the Gothic Quarter, and the Picasso Museum. Additionally, Barcelona is known for its beautiful beaches, so be sure to check out Barceloneta Beach while you're there..

    Hello Angelacbateman@hotmail.co.uk,
Yes, you will find out when you buy your city pass which dates and times are free to visit the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. If they do not suit you, you will not be obliged to finalise your purchase.
We have checked, almost all the time slots are free for the 11th of November 2022.

    Have a good visit,

  38. @Sandy - Barcelona.com (4 Aug 2022 - 09:24)

  43. @Brook - Barcelona.com (8 Jun 2022 - 09:22)

    Hello Brook,
For children too you can choose the option Barcelona City Pass + 2 days hop-on hop-off bus.
    > Click on the button at the top of the page "Check availability" then when you buy your pass you can choose between the 1-day bus or 2-day bus options.
    >> Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied - therefore the different tickets can only be clicked on once an adult ticket has been validated.

    Enjoy Barcelona!

  45. @Brian - Barcelona.com (24 May 2022 - 08:28)

    HelloBrian,
Yes, you need to take 4 city passes in your case.
But children do not pay the same price as adults for the Barcelona city pass, which makes it economically interesting also for younger people.
If they are accompanied, the prices vary according to the following age groups: 13-29, 11-12, 7-10, 4-6 and 0-3.

    Enjoy your journey,
