Why buy the Barcelona City Pass?

  • The concept is very innovative. It is the first time that a city offers a formula that combines preferential skip-the-line tickets and accessible transportation, all online and by e-mail. We like the quick and practical aspects of the concept.
  • The choice of the two main must visit tourist attractions is a good idea: the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are the two most popular monuments for visitors.
  • Discounts of 10% in other monuments, museums, and places of interest are appreciable. The offer encompasses the important places that everyone should see.
  • However, you must visit these two places at least to be able to monetize the City Pass. If you also use to visit some other place with the offered discount, then it is really a must. Prepare your trip to Barcelona well to enjoy it
  • The Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell are the most popular attractions in the city. Time slots are required to distribute the number of visitors as well as for the tourist bus. Please note that after entering the Sagrada Familia or Parc Guell, you can stay as long as you like.

Not a problem, it is the barcode which is important.

  • We are more than one adult. When we want to reserve the tickets how do we make sure we all get the same entry time?

We recommend to make the reservation all together. The time slots for Sagrada Familia and Park Güell run out quickly so it is important to make the reservations together or close to each other.

  • If there is no option to select a date?

This means that it's an open ticket, no need to visit it on a specific date.

  • Is there any senior discount and facility for wheelchair person?

There is no special rate for this but there is already so much discount included in the City Pass that it is worthwhile to purchase it.

  • What can I do if I haven't receive my tickets?

Check also your spam. If you did not received them in your SPAM you probably did not filled in your availability yet. Please do and you will receive all tickets by email.

Tickets FAQ - All about your tickets to visit Barcelona

We are totally at your service to help you with any questions you may have before or after purchasing your ticket. Problems receiving your ticket? A question before you buy? We answer you within the day, all year round!

Contact us: ticketing@barcelona.com and specify your name, first name, order number if you have it and remind us your email - the same email as your order - to facilitate the processing of your file.

  • What does a 100% mobile ticket mean?

A 100% mobile ticket simply means that your ticket - which you will receive by email just after your purchase - will be - in its electronic form (PDF) - sufficient to enable you to make your visit with your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is present it at the checkpoint. A simple scan will allow you to make your visit.

  • Can I print my ticket?

You can of course print your ticket if you don't have a smartphone, a tablet or if you simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then just present your printed ticket at the checkpoint.

  • What does a 100% skip the line ticket mean?

A 100% skip the line ticket means that the ticket in question allows you to enter the place you want to visit in Barcelona without queuing, for example at the ticket office. All you have to do is present your ticket directly at the entrance. This way, you won't lose any time on your day of discovery.

  • What's included with this ticket?

On this same page or on the ticket reservation page - the services included with the purchase of your ticket are systematically indicated. See the "Included" or “Inclusions” section for details.

  • Why do I have to specify a date when buying a ticket?

When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because the monument or service you have chosen to visit also requests it. Most of the time, this date allows tourist sites to limit the number of visitors and therefore to make the visits more fluid. Please note that if you are not asked to specify the time of your visit, this means that you can arrive at any time to visit the site - while respecting the visiting hours of the site in question.

  • Why do I have to specify a date and time when purchasing a ticket?

Same as before, but here in addition to the date - the monument or service you have chosen to visit - also asks you to specify the time you wish to visit. Once again it is a matter of limiting the number of visitors so that your visit is as pleasant as possible.

  • With a ticket - date and time requested - do I have to arrive at the exact time or can I be a little late for my visit?

On the ticket that you will receive by email after your purchase, it is normally specified how much time - in addition to the scheduled time - you are granted in order not to lose your visit. Please note, for example, that a visit to Parc Güell entitles you to entry 30 minutes after the stated time. The Sagrada Familia ticket indicates a time slot of 15 minutes. It is therefore important to respect this time slot. If the ticket does not specify a time slot, then the timetable must be respected.

  • Why are we talking about combined tickets?

We talk about combined tickets in some of our offers when they offer, for example, two places to visit in Barcelona. The ticket itself is not combined. It is two separate tickets that we combine to make a more economical and attractive offer. You will receive these two tickets by email. As they are separate you can use them according to your preference when the tickets are open or according to the dates and times you choose.

  • How to benefit from a discount for example according to age or for students?

When purchasing your ticket, discounts are always indicated when available. For example, there are regular discounts for children in different age groups, ranging from free for very young children to discounts for seniors over 65 years of age. Discounted tickets for students are indicated in the same way.

Don't forget your proof of discounts - identity card, student card... - to be shown during your visit to Barcelona.

  • What are the means of payment for the tickets?

To pay online your tickets to visit Barcelona, are accepted the classic means of payment used worldwide such as:  Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, iDeal, GiroPay or Paypal.

  • What is the difference between tours and tickets?

The difference between tours and tickets is that both types of tickets allow you to visit the main monuments of the city with a guide who speaks your language for the tours (or guided tours) or by yourself with the tickets. You can find the guided tours and tickets in our section: Barcelona Tours

    HelloBrian,
Yes, you need to take 4 city passes in your case.
But children do not pay the same price as adults for the Barcelona city pass, which makes it economically interesting also for younger people.
If they are accompanied, the prices vary according to the following age groups: 13-29, 11-12, 7-10, 4-6 and 0-3.

    Enjoy your journey,

  15. More information on the scheduling process - Teodora (21 Apr 2022 - 09:04)

Can you please update the description on the website to make it more specific and transparent?

I would like to know if I will be able to specify the exact date and time for visiting Sagrada Familia and Park Guell after I have completed the purchase of the tickets. I noticed that you need to select the starting date of the city pass, and details of the receiver of those tickets, and then the website jumps straight to the payment screen.

  18. city - 18 Yujie and 24 Zhou Qi (6 Apr 2022 - 11:38)

Hello, we are students from China. We learned about Barcelona in last week's class. After viewing some videos and your website, we found that Barcelona is a fascinating city. Whether it’s the architecture or the food or the human history, any one of which can be a reason to go to Barcelona. We think Barcelona is the most attractive city in the world. The architectural style here is very advanced. The Sagrada Familia cathedral is magnificent. If we have a chance to travel there in the future, we really want to go to the street to eat the local food and appreciate the beautiful architectural design of Gaudi. We want to know when is the best time to visit Barcelona. Could you please tell us?

  19. @Aleksandra - Barcelona.com (4 Apr 2022 - 10:30)

    Hello Aleksandra,

    - The towers of Sagrada Familia are closed for the moment due to pandemic, that' why you can't find this option.
    - Only working options on the day of your booking are shown, if not means service is not open yet.
    - Today only visit without towers and guided tour are open.
    - Audioguide is always included in this pass - it's an app for your smartphone -
    - You can use Hop-on Hop-off Bus bus ride on different days. Remember if you have chosen the one-day ticket the bus only runs on the day of the reservation and not 24 hours over two days.

    Best,

  20. Barcelona City Pass - Aleksandra (4 Apr 2022 - 10:10)

    Hello.

We are a family of 2 adults, a 6 year old child and a 1 year old child. We want to buy Barselona City Pass. But there are some
    questions.

    1. Is it allowed to climb the tower of Sagrada Familia with a child of 6 years old?
    2. Is it allowed to climb the tower Sagrada Familia with a child of 1 year in carrie child backpack?
    3. It was written in your website:

"Enter the date of your arrival.
Choose which option you would like for your visit to the Sagrada Familia:
    a) Sagrada Familia Basic Tickets
    b) Sagrada Familia Tickets + Audioguide (available in 16 languages)
    c) Sagrada Familia Tickets + Audioguide + Towers
    d) Sagrada Familia + Live Guide "

But when I tried to buy tickets, I did not see such an option. Where can I choose it?

  25. @Matt - Barcelona.com (14 Dec 2021 - 09:36)

    Hello Matt,
No worries, the bus is the official bus since 1987. No, the Christmas lights tour is not part of the Barcelona pass. It is a tour created just for Christmas 2021, departing every day at 6 or 8 pm.
You can buy it on this page:
    https://www.barcelona.com/barcelona_tickets/hop_on_hop_off_barcelona

    Have a nice journey,

  26. bus touristic - Matt (14 Dec 2021 - 09:04)

Hi, there are lots of hop on hop off bus companies in Barcelona, which one is associated with this card? If it is the official bus touristic of Barcelona, does this pass include the christmas lights tour?

    thank you
    Matt

  27. Durata pass - Diana (27 Nov 2021 - 11:18)

    Salve,
Le 24h valgono solo per il bus giusto? Quindi io potrei fare, ad esempio, Bus e parco Güell un giorno e Sagrada familia 3 giorni dopo?
    Thx

  28. @Daniella - Barcelona.com (5 Nov 2021 - 08:50)

    Hello Daniella,
Before covid, the airport/city center transportation was actually included in this pass. This is not the case anymore but we hope to offer it again next year - 2022. That's why you will find different information about it.
We don't mention it anymore in the pass description.

    Enjoy your stay!

    Hello,

We are coming next week in Barcelona, and we are interested in buying the Barcelona Pass.

Skip the line tickets for Sagrada and Guell, the 10% discounts for other attractions, Hop-on Hop-off buses and Barcelona port cable car are still available?

Since the transport from or to the airport is not available, as it is written below, we will receive tickets for Montjuïc cable?

    Thank you!
    Have a great day!

  39. Aerobus - Angela (1 Jul 2021 - 08:08)

Hello, I plan to purchase the Barcelona Pass for my July 12th arrival but did not see the option to select Aerobus instead of Cable Car. Is that a system error or is the bus option not available anymore? Thank you.

  40. @Bert - Barcelona.com (30 Jun 2021 - 09:44)

    Hello Bert,
Hop on hop off is not yet available with the Barcelona Pass. We hope to be able to add this feature very soon.

    Enjoy your visit,

    Hi,

I am planning to visit Barcelona in late July. Are there any plans for reopening the tourist attractions (Sagrada Familia, Hop-on, etc.) for summer? Also, do you have a date when the City Pass will be available for sale again?

    Thank you,

  46. @Ben - Barcelona.com (21 Jan 2021 - 09:16)

    Hello Ben,
There is no city pass at the moment because the Sagrada Familia is closed and the tourist bus is not running.
We still don't have any information about their reopening for the beginning of the year as well as for the month of March and especially for the Easter holidays 2021.
As soon as they reopen the tickets will be immediately available for booking.
