Park Guell overview
A terrace with undulating mosaic benches offering an unforgettable view of Barcelona, the famous salamander, two modernist pavilions, an extraordinary garden.
The Park Güell is one of the most mythical places in Barcelona. The masterpiece of architect Antoni Gaudí is one of the city's tourist attractions, but only part of the 17-hectare park is freely accessible. Since 2013 the visit of the part built by Gaudi is indeed payable. Knowing that visitors have limited space for their well-being, it is important to book your Park Guell ticket in advance to avoid wasting time on the day of the visit or, more foolishly, losing the day. This is the object of this page which proposes you the best tickets to comfortably discover a monument inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List..

How to get to Park Güell ?
The Park is off-centre. We must prepare this visit carefully :
- The Hop On Hop Off Barcelona (blue route), which we mentioned in two of our packages, will drop you off just a stone's throw from Parc Guell, which is great. The stop is on the Travessera de Dalt at a 10 minute walk and it is recommended to reach it by the Carrer de Larrard (main entrance).
- Park Guell by bus: Bus 24 leaves from Plaça Catalunya and leaves you not far from the park. The other bus lines are H6, 32 and 92.
- Park Guell Metro : get off at Lesseps L3 or Vallcarca L3 metro stations and walk about 20 minutes. The Vallcarca station is located at the summit of the park where you will only have to go down towards the main entrance. The Lesseps station is located at the bottom of the Park, so you will have to climb using escalators.
- By taxi, it is very practical and fast but a little expensive. From the city center count 13-16 euros the race. Same price for the return. There is a taxi stand at the main entrance.
What to see in Park Güell?
The main access and the Concierge Pavilions
The main entrance is via Carrer d'Olot. The two modernist pavilions hosted the administration of the residence and the security service. Today they are souvenir shops.

The Gaudí House Museum
The Gaudí House Museum or "Casa Museu Gaudí" in Catalan, was the residence of the architect Antoni Gaudí from 1906 to 1925.
> This museum can be visited with an additional ticket to the Parc Güell, as well as to the garden, according to the date and time you choose when you buy your tickets. This visit is, therefore, free of queues, as is the entrance to the Park.
Gaudí spent 19 years of his life in this house, which became a museum in 1963. It is visited to discover an exhibition of furniture designed by Gaudí for the Casa Batlló, the Casa Calvet, the Casa Milà, the Casa Vicens, and the crypt of the Colònia Güell. On the first floor, you will find the designer's office and bedroom. A visit to the intimacy of the architect where personal documents and audiovisual projections help us to understand his life and work.
This house was a kind of show house for a project that planned to build sixty houses in the park. Only two houses were built. Neither was sold and the housing project was forgotten. Gaudi decided to buy this house in 1906 and live in it almost until his death. It is known that he lived his last months in the Sagrada Família.
Since 1992, the Gaudí House Museum has belonged to the Foundation Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, whose aim is to disseminate the life and work of the architect.
The Monumental Staircase
At the main entrance, in front of you, you will find the monumental staircase composed of several stairs and fountains, the most famous is shaped like a mosaic salamander, a symbol of the city.
The Hypostyle Hall with its 86 inclined columns
The Sala Hipóstila, composed of 86 six-meter-high columns, was to serve as a market and alludes to a forest. On the ceiling of this room, circles of mosaics represent the four seasons and the lunar cycles.
The Wavy Bench of the Square of Nature
The Place de la Nature, a kind of ancient agora, is the most emblematic part of the park. Its long mosaic bench and one of the most photographed monuments in Barcelona. Gaudi used more than anywhere else the technique of the "trencadis" which consisted in reusing fragments of recycled ceramics to make new decorative motifs, typical of Catalan modernist architecture. The Plaza de la Nación offers a beautiful panoramic view of Barcelona.
The Park and the Calvary
A short walk through the park will take you to the Austrian gardens, a viaduct, and the Calvary, the highest point on the hill.
The Boutique Laie Park Güell
A shop where you can buy souvenirs of the Guell Park and Antoni Gaudí's work. These are derived products such as postcards, posters, t-shirts but also jewelry and costume jewelry, decorative objects, reproductions and specialised books on Gaudí, Modernisme (Catalan Art Nouveau), and Barcelona. This shop is located in one of the entrance pavilions of Park Güell.
Park Guell Covid-19
Of all the monuments in Barcelona, Park Güell is one of the ones that best faced the Covid-19 sanitary crisis, leaving its doors open when other places like Sagrada Familia were forced to close. The reason is very simple, visiting a park in the open air is obviously less likely to be a source of virus transmission.
Visiting Park Guell is therefore very safe*.
Nevertheless, different sanitary measures are now in force:
- The use of a mask is not mandatory in the Park Guell, except when it is impossible to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters with people not living with you.
- It is advisable to wash your hands at the entrance of the park where a hydro-alcoholic solution is available free of charge.
- In some areas, such as the Hypostyle Hall and the Dragon's Staircase, the number of visitors is regulated in order to avoid possible crowding.
- The Caretaker's House and the Park Shop have adapted their spaces and capacity.
*Park Guell is certified "Safe Tourism Certified" by the Spanish Institute of Quality Tourism.

-
Visiting Park Güell with children
Children under 14 not accompanied by an adult under their care are not allowed to enter. Don't panic, we don't ask you for your papers at the entrance but don't imagine leaving children under 14 visiting the Park on their own.
-
Accessibility for the disabled and persons with reduced mobility
There is a specific itinerary adapted for people with reduced mobility in Parc Guell. However, due to the architectural features of the Park, with its irregular staircases and paths, people with reduced mobility may have difficulty moving around the monumental area or monumental centre.
Wheelchairs are available from park staff upon request.
-
What is the average length of the park Guell visit?
The average length of a visit to Park Güell is about one hour if you do not take the time to stroll. Visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes and to protect themselves from the sun, especially in summer. Remember to bring a bottle of water as there are no drinking water fountains along the route.

Any exit from the paying zone is definitive. Once the entry has been validated at an access control point of the Monumental Centre, you cannot leave this paid zone and then return to it.
-
Refund of your entrance ticket
Since a visit date and time must be reserved, Parc Guell will not refund any tickets in the event of a cancellation.

Tickets FAQ - All about your tickets to visit Barcelona
-
What does a 100% mobile ticket mean?
A 100% mobile ticket simply means that your ticket - which you will receive by email just after your purchase - will be - in its electronic form (PDF) - sufficient to enable you to make your visit with your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is present it at the checkpoint. A simple scan will allow you to make your visit.
-
Can I print my ticket?
You can of course print your ticket if you don't have a smartphone, a tablet or if you simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then just present your printed ticket at the checkpoint.
-
What does a 100% skip the line ticket mean?
A 100% skip the line ticket means that the ticket in question allows you to enter the place you want to visit in Barcelona without queuing, for example at the ticket office. All you have to do is present your ticket directly at the entrance. This way, you won't lose any time on your day of discovery.
-
What's included with this ticket?
On this same page or on the ticket reservation page - the services included with the purchase of your ticket are systematically indicated. See the "Included" or “Inclusions” section for details.
-
Why do I have to specify a date when buying a ticket?
When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because the monument or service you have chosen to visit also requests it. Most of the time, this date allows tourist sites to limit the number of visitors and therefore to make the visits more fluid. Please note that if you are not asked to specify the time of your visit, this means that you can arrive at any time to visit the site - while respecting the visiting hours of the site in question.
-
Why do I have to specify a date and time when purchasing a ticket?
Same as before, but here in addition to the date - the monument or service you have chosen to visit - also asks you to specify the time you wish to visit. Once again it is a matter of limiting the number of visitors so that your visit is as pleasant as possible.
-
With a ticket - date and time requested - do I have to arrive at the exact time or can I be a little late for my visit?
On the ticket that you will receive by email after your purchase, it is normally specified how much time - in addition to the scheduled time - you are granted in order not to lose your visit. Please note, for example, that a visit to Parc Güell entitles you to entry 30 minutes after the stated time. The Sagrada Familia ticket indicates a time slot of 15 minutes. It is therefore important to respect this time slot. If the ticket does not specify a time slot, then the timetable must be respected.
-
Why are we talking about combined tickets?
We talk about combined tickets in some of our offers when they offer, for example, two places to visit in Barcelona. The ticket itself is not combined. It is two separate tickets that we combine to make a more economical and attractive offer. You will receive these two tickets by email. As they are separate you can use them according to your preference when the tickets are open or according to the dates and times you choose.
-
How to benefit from a discount for example according to age or for students?
When purchasing your ticket, discounts are always indicated when available. For example, there are regular discounts for children in different age groups, ranging from free for very young children to discounts for seniors over 65 years of age. Discounted tickets for students are indicated in the same way.
Don't forget your proof of discounts - identity card, student card... - to be shown during your visit to Barcelona.
-
What are the means of payment for the tickets?
To pay online your tickets to visit Barcelona, are accepted the classic means of payment used worldwide such as: Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, iDeal, GiroPay or Paypal.
-
What is the difference between tours and tickets?
The difference between tours and tickets is that both types of tickets allow you to visit the main monuments of the city with a guide who speaks your language for the tours (or guided tours) or by yourself with the tickets. You can find the guided tours and tickets in our section: Barcelona Tours
