Our Opinion
The Barcelona hop-on hop-off bus tour, is a great way to catch Barcelona in a few hours.
▼ Show more- You can see and learn, with the audioguides, essential information on all the important places and monuments of the city.
- Depending on your preferences, you can either stop to visit or tell yourself that you will have to return to this or that place. It is at the same time, a spotting and a discovery of the city.
- We love being out in the open-bus to experience the city even closer and take pictures. We like the rapidity to go from one attraction to another without wasting time looking for orientation.
- For children as for adults it is quite fun and finally frankly practical. We can only recommend this experience.

-
What are the sanitary measures on board the hop-on hop-off bus at the present time?
For the entire year 2022, it is still compulsory to wear a mask on all hop-on-hop-off buses in Barcelona.
Hygiene on board is reinforced with periodic disinfection of all buses (Covid-19). -
Are Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tickets valid for all two routes?
Yes, you can use your Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tickets on all two routes (blue and red) and combine your visit as you wish.
-
Can I print my Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket?
You can of course print your Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket if you do not have a smartphone or simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then simply present your printed ticket each time you board the bus.
-
What is the meaning of a Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket valid for one day?
A Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket valid for one day means that the ticket is only valid from morning to evening of the day it is used and not, for example, 24 hours from the time you first use it. A day here therefore means a calendar day, i.e. a single date in the calendar.
-
What is the meaning of a Hop-on Hop-Off Barcelona bus ticket valid for two consecutive days?
A Hop-on Hop-Off Barcelona bus ticket valid for two consecutive days simply means that after the first validation of your ticket you must - to take advantage of your two-day package - use your ticket the next day and not for example two days later. The two days of bus tours must follow each other.
-
Why do I have to specify a date when the bus ticket is valid all year round?
Indeed, the Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket is valid for one year. When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because you have chosen a Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket associated with a visit to a Barcelona monument. This date only concerns the monument in question for which you must choose a date and time of visit to benefit from the no-waiting entry.
-
Do I have to visit the monument and use the Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket on the same day?
You are not required to use both tickets from our combined offers on the same day. You can visit the monument on the scheduled date and time and use your bus ticket on another day. Don't forget that the Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket is an "open" ticket: you can use it whenever you want during your stay.
-
Do children benefit from discounts on the price of the Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket?
Children aged 4 to 12 benefit from discounts on the price of the Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket.

Yes, the tourist bus is adapted for passengers with reduced mobility.
-
Does Barcelona's Hop-on Hop-Off bus operate all year round?
Barcelona's Hop-on Hop-Off bus operates all year round for the blue and red routes. The Green Line only operates from March 23 to November 4 of each year.
-
Can I film on board the Hop-on Hop-Off bus?
You can film on board the Hop-on Hop-Off bus without any restrictions. This is one of the interests of these open-air buses.
Our advice: take a seat on the first floor of the bus and in the front. It is the ideal place to make a film or simply take pictures.
-
Do I have to get on or off at each bus stop?
Absolutely not, you do as you wish during your day of visit. It is up to you to combine your stops (there are 45) and your roads (there are three) to discover only the monuments and tourist attractions that you like. You can even not go down at all and take a whole tour of the city that way.
-
How to switch from one route to another?
There are four crossings or intersections between the two lines (blue and red) that allow you to change routes. On the map, these crossings are indicated as a stop but with two colors. On board the buses these crossings are indicated orally.
-
I have to park my car before I take the Hop-on Hop-Off bus. Where can I park my vehicle?
There is no actual starting and arrival point for the Hop-on Hop-Off bus, as it can be taken from any stop. We therefore advise you to park as close as possible to one of the stops depending on where you arrive in the city. Use our parking reservation system to find the best price for parking: Barcelona car Parking
-
Are dogs and other pets allowed on the Hop-on Hop-Off bus?
Pets are allowed on buses "only if they are carried in a basket specially designed so that they cannot dirty the bus or disturb other passengers".

Tickets FAQ - All about your tickets to visit Barcelona
-
What does a 100% mobile ticket mean?
A 100% mobile ticket simply means that your ticket - which you will receive by email just after your purchase - will be - in its electronic form (PDF) - sufficient to enable you to make your visit with your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is present it at the checkpoint. A simple scan will allow you to make your visit.
-
Can I print my ticket?
You can of course print your ticket if you don't have a smartphone, a tablet or if you simply prefer this option. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, simply print the PDF of the ticket. Then just present your printed ticket at the checkpoint.
-
What does a 100% skip the line ticket mean?
A 100% skip the line ticket means that the ticket in question allows you to enter the place you want to visit in Barcelona without queuing, for example at the ticket office. All you have to do is present your ticket directly at the entrance. This way, you won't lose any time on your day of discovery.
-
What's included with this ticket?
On this same page or on the ticket reservation page - the services included with the purchase of your ticket are systematically indicated. See the "Included" or “Inclusions” section for details.
-
Why do I have to specify a date when buying a ticket?
When you are asked to specify the date of your visit, it is because the monument or service you have chosen to visit also requests it. Most of the time, this date allows tourist sites to limit the number of visitors and therefore to make the visits more fluid. Please note that if you are not asked to specify the time of your visit, this means that you can arrive at any time to visit the site - while respecting the visiting hours of the site in question.
-
Why do I have to specify a date and time when purchasing a ticket?
Same as before, but here in addition to the date - the monument or service you have chosen to visit - also asks you to specify the time you wish to visit. Once again it is a matter of limiting the number of visitors so that your visit is as pleasant as possible.
-
With a ticket - date and time requested - do I have to arrive at the exact time or can I be a little late for my visit?
On the ticket that you will receive by email after your purchase, it is normally specified how much time - in addition to the scheduled time - you are granted in order not to lose your visit. Please note, for example, that a visit to Park Güell entitles you to entry 30 minutes after the stated time. The Sagrada Familia ticket indicates a time slot of 15 minutes. It is therefore important to respect this time slot. If the ticket does not specify a time slot, then the timetable must be respected.
-
Why are we talking about combined tickets?
We talk about combined tickets in some of our offers when they offer, for example, two places to visit in Barcelona. The ticket itself is not combined. It is two separate tickets that we combine to make a more economical and attractive offer. You will receive these two tickets by email. As they are separate you can use them according to your preference when the tickets are open or according to the dates and times you choose.
-
How to benefit from a discount for example according to age or for students?
When purchasing your ticket, discounts are always indicated when available. For example, there are regular discounts for children in different age groups, ranging from free for very young children to discounts for seniors over 65 years of age. Discounted tickets for students are indicated in the same way.
Don't forget your proof of discounts - identity card, student card... - to be shown during your visit to Barcelona.
-
What are the means of payment for the tickets?
To pay online your tickets to visit Barcelona, are accepted the classic means of payment used worldwide such as: Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, iDeal, GiroPay or Paypal.
-
What is the difference between tours and tickets?
The difference between tours and tickets is that both types of tickets allow you to visit the main monuments of the city with a guide who speaks your language for the tours (or guided tours) or by yourself with the tickets. You can find the guided tours and tickets in our section: Barcelona Tours

@AR - Barcelona.com (18 Jul 2022 - 13:20)
Hello AR,
It takes about 15 minutes from the Plaza de Catalunya to the Sagrada Familia by hop on hop off tourist bus.
The stops are relatively close to each other, but they take into account the places to be visited (therefore different spacing according to the districts of Barcelona).
You have on this same page the plans of the red and blue routes with all the stops.
Enjoy your visit!

However, once scanned on the city bus you have to use it within the day for 1-day tickets, the same day, and the next day for 2-day bus tickets.
Have a great journey!
