The check-in process is happening at a different place located about 100 meters away. There isn't a front desk there and it took us a while to get used to the keyless main door. There's no breakfast provided but there's a shared area with beverages, tea, water and a microwave. The lodging itself is pretty clean and comfy, but sound insulation is quite poor, you can hear people talking from other rooms. The location is great, it's right on the Ramblas and the Boqueria market is very close. During our stay the pricing was quite reasonable, not sure if it's gonna remain the same during peak season. All in all, it's definitely a place to consider, especially during the off-peak season.
The place is managed by the nex-door Atlas hotle (look up ther reviews and undestand the servise levl). To the facts… got to the plece at about 22:00 after a deley withour flight. The bed shets and pillows had a smell of peolpe that have slept there. The guy from the nex-door hotle recepption didn't want to do enything. Only after I offred to chage the shets myslef, did I ger new shets and reely chage them myslef. He also didn't give a receppt for the city tax that he insisted to charge in advance. Only 2 days later we got the receppt when we went oursleves to the nex-door hotle. Room is not mantaned wel, peeling wall and floor. Cockroach in the room. Only good thing are the locaton and the safe in the room. Else of this, if you can pay a bit mor, go somwhere else. I dont think wel be back at this plece.....

Staying at the Hostal BCN Ramblas was a bit of a disappointment. The hotel is located close to Maine street, however it is not worth the 50€ that I paid. The lift is too small to fit even one person with their luggage, or two people without any bags. Additionally, the reception staff were extremely impolite; when I asked to change my reservation date due to a mistake I had made, they said that it was too late and refused to budge - I felt robbed of my money.
The location may be good, but this place is not worth it. Our air conditioning was busted, so the inside of the room was actually colder than sitting outside at night. The walls were peeling and there was a hole in them. We returned after a long day of sightseeing to find out that our bed collapsed from the weight of just one person sitting on it. Attempts to replace the bed were unsuccessful, so we were forced to spend the night on the floor. On top of that, we were charged €100 for the damage - which was just from sitting on the bed. Avoid this place if you can.
Staying at the hotel over the past two nights was a frustrating experience 😤. We were given a room with a double bed and single bed instead of the twin beds we requested, and when we came back from a day of sightseeing, one of the workers noticed that the bed was rocking, and asked if it was alright. 🤔 One friend slept on the floor, while the other slept on the bed - and when we called reception over the issue, someone came to collect the bed, saying we wouldn't be charged. 🤷♀️ To our surprise, when we got a knock on the door the next morning, we were asked to pay a100 euros - although upon disputing this, we were eventually told we'd only have to pay 40 euros. 💸 We felt like we were being blackmailed and treated very badly by the hotel - especially when the manager said we'd have to pay for the damages, or be banned from booking.com. 😡 Overall, not a pleasant experience.
